Artisano Collection (Mexico)

Artisano products are from one factory in Mexico, a state of the art yet boutique facility located in picturesque San Miguel de Allende. This is a wonderful place to visit in the mountainous foothills of central Mexico. The town is a historical Spanish Colonial town with modern amenities and a mild climate year round.

The lumbers we use in Mexico are Mexico Durango pine (very dense and few knots), USA alder, USA pecan and Mexico nut wood. Historically, this factory has been a cabinet manufacturer but has recently moved into more bedroom sets and accents. The construction is very solid and more rugged than most furniture; drawer surrounds are solid, backs are thicker, doors are thicker, shelving is thicker. There are also authentic details like wood shelf dividers, grooves in the back panels, English dovetail drawers, solid stock moldings, wooden pegs, hand cast hardware, etc.. Finishes are lightly to heavily distressed, layered stains and top coated with high grade furniture lacquers.

Lead times are very good from this factory, generally 7-9 week production time, so there are numerous special order options and packages to suit the needs of retailers and designers alike. All items can be ordered in any finish.

Classic Originals Collection (India)

Classic originals are from the city of Jaipur in Rajasthan, India. The state of Rajasthan is beautifully dotted with forts and palaces throughout and Jaipur is the capital of this historical region, referred to as the Pink City.

The collection is mostly occasional furniture and smaller accents made from solid woods including mango, sheesham and acacia. All items are hand crafted in smaller artisan factories, then finished, packaged and shipped from a regional hub. This cottage style industry is common in India and allows for great diversity and flexibilities in design and craftsmanship. “Handmade” and “one of kind” features are coveted with this line, while lead times and consistency are often different than larger and state of the art factories in other countries.

Great efforts have been made with this supplier to upgrade the furniture from what typically comes from India, including brass hardware, European styling, conventional door latches, hand distressing and high grade furniture finishes. The designs are very classic and timeless, while the artisan feel and incredible value keeps this collection as top sellers.

Heritage Collection (China)

The Heritage Collection centers on casual dining extension tables and chairs, two items that require close attention to detail. Our China factories have high technology at fair labor costs, thus allowing for better engineered and more complicated furniture designs.

There are two categories of chairs. A more upscale category is made of dense hardwood from the Para Tree (referred to as the environmentally friendly wood) with stretchers, exquisite tailoring, seat springs, layered finishes, and superior packaging. The second category is more affordable, yet is well made from birch hardwood, fully assembled, and uses the same select grade of fabrics as the more upscale chairs.

Tables and coordinating cabinets are made from solid birch and cherry at one facility and solid poplar and Chinese Walnut at another facility. There are teams of quality control agents and finishing trainers on the ground at each factory to ensure a quality and still handmade looking product. Manufacturing details and packaging generally follow strict standards, the same expected from the major high-end furniture chains in the USA.
